Welcome to My Sip of Coffee
Growing up in a traditional Filipino household in Seattle, WA, my love affair with coffee began at a very young age. I remember sneaking sips of my mom’s morning brew – coffee poured generously over a bowl of rice. Yes, you read that right – a bowl of rice. Later, a Mocha Frappuccino marked a rite of passage, gifted to me after surviving an afternoon of family portraits. I was seven, a ’90s kid clutching a sugary cup at the Starbucks in SODO – a place many now know as corporate headquarters, but I remember half of it as the old Sears where our awkward smiles were immortalized.
Since then, my palate has matured, and coffee has become more than a drink. It’s a ritual, a comfort, a quiet joy. With each cup, I find a pause in the noise of life – a moment to reflect, to feel, to simply be.
This blog is a collection of those moments. The small joys, the hard days, the memories steeped in warmth. These are my sips of coffee – thank you for sharing them with me.
